Ever wondered why you can talk for hours one day, then disappear from everyone the next? Or why you plan everything carefully but somehow still end up winging it?
Answer a few questions and discover the four letters that might explain why you are… well, you.
No right or wrong answers. Just choose what feels most natural, not what sounds nicer. And please, don't overthink it. That might already tell us something.
This just personalizes your result sheet at the end — all of it is optional except your name, and none of it leaves your browser.
Small, specific things to actually try — pick one, not all three.

“Why Are You Like This?” is an original, independently written personality test inspired by the well-known 16-type (MBTI-style) model. The 84 questions, the 16 type write-ups, the Assertive/Turbulent Identity trait, and the compatibility engine were all written from scratch for this project — nothing here is copied from any commercial test.
Each of the four core dichotomies (Extravert/Introvert, Sensor/Intuitive, Thinker/Feeler, Judger/Perceiver) is measured by 18 statements, split evenly between both sides to reduce bias. Whichever side scores higher becomes that letter of your type — and the percentage shown reflects how strongly you leaned that way, not a hard category.
Alongside the four-letter type, this test measures a fifth, independent trait: Assertive (-A) vs. Turbulent (-T). It covers self-assurance and sensitivity to stress, and isn't part of the classic four dichotomies — think of it as a bonus layer on top.
Compatibility scores are a structured, for-fun heuristic based on how many preferences two types share, plus special handling for identical types and “duality” pairs (types whose function stacks mirror each other exactly). They're a starting point for reflection, not a verdict — any two types can build a great relationship with self-awareness and communication.
